CrowdSpark is a platform for sharing and discovering business ideas that resonate, while helping founders build the connections needed to move ideas forward.
It allows people to share ideas they believe should exist, even when they may not have the time, resources or desire to pursue them themselves. Some people are particularly good at spotting unmet needs, identifying gaps in the market or imagining better ways of doing things. Founders can also use CrowdSpark to connect with potential collaborators, advisers, co-founders or investors who may be able to help bring their idea to life.
Contributors may also choose to receive voluntary tips as a thank-you for ideas that other people value.
For entrepreneurs, investors and businesses, CrowdSpark provides a way to discover promising ideas by industry, country, region or scale, supported by signals of interest from the crowd.
CrowdSpark is for anyone interested in business ideas, innovation or entrepreneurship.
You might have an idea you believe should exist, be developing a business of your own, or simply be good at spotting unmet needs and better ways of doing things. You might also be looking for inspiration, potential opportunities or ideas that are beginning to resonate with other people.
Founders, collaborators, advisers, investors and businesses can also use CrowdSpark to discover ideas and connect around opportunities they may be able to help move forward.
You do not need to have started a business before, and you do not need to intend to pursue every idea you share.
Contributors share business ideas using a short description and information about the problem, opportunity, audience, industry or location.
Other users can then discover those ideas, explore them using available filters and vote for the concepts they find interesting, relevant or worth exploring further.
These interactions create signals of interest that can help show which ideas are resonating with the crowd. Contributors and founders may also attract attention from people who could offer advice, collaboration, support or investment.
A vote is an indication of interest, not proof that an idea will succeed or that the voter intends to buy, invest or participate.
Sharing an idea gives it an opportunity to be seen, considered and valued by people interested in new business concepts and opportunities. It may help you:
You do not need a complete business plan, a finished product or even an intention to pursue the idea yourself. CrowdSpark is also a place for sharing ideas you believe should exist and allowing others to recognise their potential.
You retain any copyright or other intellectual property rights you hold in the original content you submit, including your written description and any images or other materials you have created. Copyright may protect how you describe or illustrate an idea, but it does not generally protect the underlying business idea or concept itself.
By publishing content on CrowdSpark, you give CrowdSpark permission to host, display, reproduce, analyse and use it to operate, promote and develop the platform, as explained in the Terms of Service. This does not transfer ownership of your content to CrowdSpark.
CrowdSpark is intended as a place where ideas can attract feedback, recognition, advice and support, or be discovered by people who may help develop or pursue them. Others may therefore develop similar concepts or take inspiration from the underlying idea, although this does not automatically give them the right to copy your original wording, user-created images or other copyright-protected material.
Only submit content you created yourself or otherwise have the right to publish. Ideas shared on CrowdSpark are visible to other users and should not be treated as confidential, so do not include trade secrets or commercially sensitive information you do not want others to see.
CrowdSpark’s philosophy is that contributors retain rights in how they express an idea, while the underlying idea is shared so that others can respond to it, support it or help move it forward.
CrowdSpark is intended as an idea exchange — a place to share business ideas so they can be seen, discussed, supported or potentially developed by others. The purpose of CrowdSpark is ultimately to help good ideas move closer to becoming real, whether through finding supporters, collaborators, investors, businesses or other people who may be able to help take them forward.
By publishing an idea on CrowdSpark, you should therefore understand that other users will be able to see it and may take inspiration from it, develop a similar concept or arrive at a similar idea independently. CrowdSpark cannot prevent this, and an underlying business idea may not, by itself, be protected as intellectual property. Protection may instead apply to particular elements, such as original written content, user-created images, branding, inventions, designs or confidential know-how.
That does not mean others are automatically entitled to copy your original material. Taking inspiration from an underlying idea does not automatically give someone the right to copy or reuse your original wording, user-created images or other copyright-protected content.
If your idea depends on secrecy, contains trade secrets or includes commercially sensitive information, CrowdSpark may not be the right place to publish those details. You should share enough for others to understand and respond to the opportunity without revealing anything that needs to remain confidential, and consider taking independent professional advice where appropriate. UK IPO guidance specifically recommends keeping potentially protectable IP confidential where disclosure could affect protection.
Sharing an idea does not guarantee a financial reward, but contributors may benefit from recognition, feedback, visibility and new connections.
Where enabled, people who value an idea can choose to send the contributor a voluntary tip as a thank-you for sharing it. Tips are intended to recognise the value of the contribution.
A tip does not transfer ownership of the contributor’s written content, create equity in a business or give the supporter any special contractual rights. However, supporters may choose to explore or develop the underlying idea themselves.
An idea may also attract interest from potential collaborators, advisers, co-founders, supporters or investors. Any partnership, investment or commercial arrangement must be discussed and agreed separately between the people involved.
CrowdSpark does not guarantee that an idea will receive tips, investment or other support.
Ideas cannot currently be edited directly once they have been published. This helps preserve the integrity of the votes and signals attached to the original submission, so it is worth reviewing your idea carefully before posting it.
If you need to make a significant correction, or would like your idea removed, please contact support@crowdspark.co.uk from the email address associated with your account and include enough information for the idea to be identified.
If you request deletion, CrowdSpark will aim to remove the idea, although limited information may sometimes need to be retained to resolve a complaint, investigate misuse or meet a legal obligation.
